Modbook Graphics Get Major Boost

Axiotron Introduces Modbooks with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics Chipset -- New Quickflip Application for NVIDIA-Powered Modbooks Enables Screen Rotation -- Modbook Discount Pricing Available through March 6th, 2009

El Segundo, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2009 -- High-tech hardware and software manufacturer Axiotron® today announced that customers can now purchase a Modbook® -- the company's award-winning Mac® tablet solution -- based on the recently upgraded non-aluminum Apple® MacBook® base system containing the NVIDIA® GeForce® 9400M integrated graphics processor, giving the Modbook a dramatic boost in its graphics processing capabilities.

The Axiotron Modbook (http://www.axiotron.com/modbook) seamlessly integrates an Apple MacBook computer, a Wacom® Penabled® digitizer and Axiotron's own hardware and software technology to create a one-of-a-kind slate tablet solution. Beginning immediately, customers can order a Modbook with the updated specifications that include a 2.0GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor with a 1066MHz frontside bus and the NVIDIA GeForce graphics chipset.

According to NVIDIA, the GeForce 9400M offers a 5x performance increase over previous integrated core-logic designs. Its 16 parallel processing cores make it the most powerful integrated graphics processing unit available today, and its highly integrated design is ideal for portable solutions like the Modbook.

NVIDIA-powered Modbooks will now ship with a new Axiotron Quickapps™ application called Quickflip™. Quickflip allows users to switch their Modbook's screen rotation in 90-degree increments, going from landscape mode to portrait mode and back again. The wide horizontal viewing angles of the Modbook's AnyView™ LCD panel means users get a crystal clear display while in portrait mode.

"This change in the base system architecture provides a significant enhancement to the Modbook's graphics processing power, including the ability to offer Quickflip to our customers," said Axiotron CEO Andreas E. Haas. "Based on our tests, the Modbook's ability to render images in graphics-intensive applications is markedly improved, so creative professionals and general users should find it to be a big leap forward for the Modbook."

Customers can take advantage of special discount pricing through March 6th on the Modbook. A brand new Modbook with the NVIDIA GeForce chipset is available starting at $2,148 -- a $100 discount from the manufacturer's suggested retail price. This offer expires March 6th, 2009.

In addition, customers can also get a Modbook through Modservice™, Axiotron's innovative service enabling customer-supplied, non-aluminum Apple MacBooks to be converted into an Axiotron Modbook. Customers can order a Modbook through Modservice starting at just $1,149 -- a $150 discount from the manufacturer's suggested retail price. This offer also expires March 6th, 2009.

Every Axiotron Modbook comes with a one-year limited hardware warranty that covers the entire system, including its Apple MacBook base system components. Customers can also purchase a two-year Modcare™ warranty extension.

Customers can order the Modbook through Axiotron's website at http://www.axiotron.com/buy or at any Axiotron Authorized Reseller. More information about Axiotron and its products is available at http://www.axiotron.com.
